OTTAWA — The federal authorities says it has appointed a brand new “chief adviser” on combating human trafficking.
Minister of Crown-Indigenous Relations Gary Anandasangaree says Jennifer Richardson, who served as the primary director of Ontario’s Anti-Human Trafficking Coordination Workplace, has deep data of human trafficking.
As chief adviser to the federal authorities, Richardson will provide suggestions to Public Security Minister David McGuinty.
In current weeks McGuinty has been working to persuade the brand new administration of U.S. President Donald Trump that Canada takes border safety critically.
Richardson can also be anticipated to work with Anandasangaree to reply to most of the suggestions from the Nationwide Inquiry into Lacking and Murdered Indigenous Girls and Ladies.
Richardson’s appointment is a part of a nationwide technique to fight human trafficking.
