An Ottawa driver, 65, has died following a single-vehicle crash on Freeway 417 Friday afternoon, based on the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
It occurred on the freeway east at Terry Fox Drive shortly earlier than 6:00 p.m.
Following the incident, the driving force was taken to hospital in life-threatening situation. They had been pronounced lifeless on the hospital, police say.
The freeway was closed for a number of hours eastbound at Terry Fox Drive, “whereas OPP Technical Collision Investigator’s had been on scene to conduct their investigation into the collision.”
It has since re-opened.
The investigation into what let to the collision continues to be ongoing.
