Three individuals, together with an eight-month-old have died after a two-vehicle collision on Freeway 401 in jap Ontario Saturday afternoon, in accordance with the Ontario provincial Police (OPP).
Police say they acquired a name round 1:15 p.m. reporting a crash in Quinte West, Ont. on the westbound lanes of the freeway, west of the County Street 40 interchange.
When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered “a mini-van had collided with the rear of a tractor trailer.”
The victims had been the occupants of the mini-van, they’re all from Laval, Que. There have been 4 individuals contained in the mini-van, together with two adults, an toddler and a toddler. The adults, a 25-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman had been pronounced lifeless on the scene. The toddler, an eight-month-old, later died on the hospital, police say. A four-year-old was airlifted to a trauma centre in Toronto with severe accidents.
In the meantime, the motive force of the trailer was not injured.
Following the incident, the westbound lanes of the freeway had been closed for a number of hours for investigation.
The investigation into what led to the incident is ongoing.
