DAY 1 – Museums and Historical Wonders

Lots of hotels in Ottawa have great features for kids like indoor pools, game rooms, and other fun activities your little ones will enjoy!

Why not kick off Family Day weekend with some live animals and intriguing history?

Check out Canada’s top museum, the Canadian Museum of History, which is just across the river from downtown Ottawa in Gatineau, Quebec. Be amazed by the stunning collection of totem poles in the Grand Hall and walk through time in the Canadian History Hall while enjoying special Spring Break events. Younger children will love the cultural treasure hunt at the Canadian Children’s Museum found inside. And make sure you catch a fun movie in the Ciné+ theatre while you’re there!

When it’s time to eat, you’ll find plenty of family-friendly restaurants within walking distance from most hotels in Ottawa. From pizza to burritos, burgers to milkshakes, everyone will leave happy and satisfied!

DAY 2 – Science, Art, and Animals Galore!

Science or art? It’s a tough choice!

The Canada Science and Technology Museum is all about interactive fun and learning. Enjoy classic favorites like real trains and the Crazy Kitchen alongside newer attractions such as ZOOOM – Children’s Innovation Zone and the Exploratek maker studio. There are hands-on experiences available for visitors of all ages!

If your kids are feeling creative, they’ll find lots of opportunities in Ottawa!

The National Gallery of Canada has various art activities and games perfect for families. You can also have hands-on artistic fun at the beautiful Ottawa Art Gallery where admission is always free!

For lunch or shopping around town, check out the historic By Ward Market area. You’ll find tasty treats around every corner along with charming courtyards and urban art displays. This neighborhood is just one of many vibrant spots worth visiting in Ottawa.

What kid doesn’t love animals?

Spend part of your day at Parc Omega where you can experience a Canadian safari among deer, elk, bison, caribou, and wolves living freely in their natural environment. You can also take a stroll or snowshoe along the First Nations trail. This impressive wildlife park feels remote but is only a short 45-minute drive from downtown Ottawa to Montebello, Quebec!

If you’d rather stay closer to home, visit the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum where kids go wild over special daily programs that are included with admission!

If you’re looking for some brain-teasing fun together as a family, consider getting locked inside an escape room! Escape Manor offers various thrilling experiences throughout different locations across the city.

You should also check out Kids Zone-a Winterlude activity located at Jacques-Cartier Park on Laurier St. in Gatineau-perfect for toddlers aged 2 to 5 years old!

DAY 3 – Slopes and Skating Fun

Dive into nature! The Ottawa region boasts excellent options for cross-country skiing as well as downhill skiing and snowboarding adventures nearby. Ski right within city limits or venture just 15 minutes to Gatineau Park or Greenbelt areas for some slope action (or flat trails).

This weekend wraps up Winterlude festival festivities! With ice sculptures galore plus interactive art installations-and even a Chinook slide-it promises excitement all around! Don’t miss skating on Rideau Canal Skateway-recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site (weather permitting). Be sure to grab yourself a Beaver Tail from one of several stands lining skateway paths! If conditions aren’t good enough for Rideau Canal Skateway skating due to weather issues instead head over towards City Hall where Rink of Dreams awaits skate enthusiasts too!

Finally don’t forget about one iconic spot: Parliament Hill! While renovations happen on Centre Block over next decade-you can enjoy two guided tours through other historic interior spaces including The House of Commons located within West Block & Senate chambers found inside original train station called Senate Of Canada Building-all reservation tickets available online now conveniently!
