This week, there’s plenty going on in Ottawa, the Outaouais, and Eastern Ontario! Highlights include the Taste of the Valley event in Cobden, a free aerial show at By Ward Market, a steampunk exhibition in Aylmer, hiking in Lanark, a market happening in Bourget, farm tours near Smiths Falls, French storytelling sessions in Rockland, plus various plays and concerts. If you’re into arts and crafts, don’t miss the Art and Craft Supplies Sale at North Grenville Municipal Centre in Kemptville this Saturday, October 18. Just a heads-up: this sale won’t have finished items; it’s all about fabric, scrapbooking materials, baking tools, jewellery-making kits, and other crafting essentials.

Attention science fiction, fantasy and horror fans! Can*Con is happening-a three-day convention featuring Canadian authors alongside fans of these genres. The fall edition of the Red Trillium Studio Tour takes place on October 19 and 20. It gives you the chance to visit artists’ studios across West Carleton-31 artists will be showcasing their work at nine different locations including Dunrobin, Woodlawn and Kinburn.

Green Gables Vines invites everyone to celebrate World Singing Day on Saturday afternoon (October 18) with singing amid beautiful vineyard views followed by a hearty chili dinner.
