Celebrating Family Day in Durham: Open and Closed Locations
What’s open, what’s closed and how you can celebrate Family Day in Durham

Family Day weekend is here, bringing some closures like banks, government offices, and libraries.

Most grocery stores will be shut on Monday, but it’s a good idea to check with your local store. The Beer Store and LCBO will also be closed.

Durham Region Transit will operate on a weekend schedule, GO Transit will move to a Saturday schedule, and TTC routes will run on their Sunday timetable starting at 6 a. m.

If you’re thinking about going to Toronto, there are plenty of fun events lined up for Family Day.

You can enjoy free swimming and drop-in programs at various recreation centers, along with free skating that includes skate and helmet rentals among other activities.

The Hockey Hall of Fame is offering complimentary admission along with gifts from Hasbro for kids aged 13 & under on Monday.
