UPDATE: Deadly incident closes Freeway 401 east of Oshawa, Ontario

A deadly incident closed Freeway 401 east of Oshawa this morning.

The incident occurred within the eastbound lanes of Freeway 401 at Freeway 418 round 5:35 a.m. right now (July 4), OPP stated in a submit on X.

OPP stated it was a deadly collision within the submit however a spokesperson instructed insauga.com, it was a deadly incident on the freeway.

All eastbound lanes at Courtice Street have been anticipated to be closed for a couple of hours, police stated.

Simply after 10 a.m., OPP stated all lanes had reopened.

In a press launch posted later, OPP stated a 61-year-old man was discovered with out important indicators on Freeway 401 eastbound at Freeway 418 in Bowmanville.

He was pronounced lifeless on the scene. There have been no indicators of foul play, police added.

The demise was certainly one of three deadly incidents on GTA highways this morning. A pedestrian died on the QEW in Niagara Area and there was one other hit-and-run crash claimed the lifetime of a girl on the Gardiner Expressway in Toronto.
