Double homicide confirmed near Oshawa, child spared

Police say two ladies had been the victims of a double murder in Courtice, Ontario close to Oshawa this afternoon (Oct. 1).

A toddler discovered contained in the residence was not harmed.

A person has been taken into custody.

The names of the ladies haven’t been launched.

In accordance with data launched late within the day, officers had been known as to a house on Moulton Court docket round 1:10 p.m. The neighbourhood is simply north of Freeway 401 off of Nash Highway simply east of Oshawa.

Upon arriving on the scene, police found the 2 ladies who displayed apparent indicators of trauma. Police haven’t indicated how they died.

A 33-year-old male was arrested on the scene with out incident.

Members of the Forensic Investigative Providers and Murder Unit stay on the scene and are anticipated to be there for a while.

“Our thoughts are with the families who have been impacted by this tragedy and we will provide further information as it becomes available,” stated Durham police.
