Oodles Wok is about to launch its second Canadian location at 6191 Mayfield Rd., Brampton, further establishing the U. K.-based fast-casual chain’s footprint in the GTA.

This restaurant focuses on Indo-Chinese cuisine that combines Indian spices with Chinese culinary techniques.

You’ll find stir-fried noodles and rice bowls on the menu along with wraps, wings, spring rolls, and fried chicken dumplings. Their bento boxes let diners pick a base and protein while dessert options include boba cheesecake and ice cream.

A new Filipino restaurant with live music is now open in Pickering

Gimikz Kitchen and Bar has opened its doors at 376 Kingston Rd., Pickering. This marks the brand’s first outlet bringing Filipino flavors to the area in a relaxed dining environment.

The menu offers classic Filipino favorites like kare-kare (meat cooked in peanut sauce), sinigang pork ribs (tamarind soup), pancit canton (stir-fried egg noodles), and crispy pork belly. Appetizers feature lumpia (spring rolls), pork barbecue skewers, and sisig (a sizzling chopped meat dish). For dessert you can enjoy ube flan (purple yam custard), turon (fried banana rolls), or silvana cookie sandwiches.
