Yvon G. Ouellet, affectionately called “Frenchy” by his loved ones, passed away on September 17, 2025. He was born on December 28, 1938, in Cookshire-Eaton, QC, Canada. Frenchy was known for his humor, reliability, and creativity. His charming way of jokingly greeting friends with “You old bastard” will always be a fond memory for those who knew him.

Frenchy truly appreciated the little things in life. He had a great passion for ice hockey and played with the old timers in Fitchburg during his younger days. His adventurous spirit often led to spontaneous road trips back to Canada to visit friends and family. A skilled card player, he was famous among his brothers and nephews for his cribbage games and ran Texas Hold ’em tournaments at the Otter River Gun Club. In later years, he enjoyed riding around his yard on his John Deere tractor. Above all else, family meant everything to Yvon.

He is survived by his loving wife, Elaine Ouellet; daughters Janine Ekey (Robert), Debora Carbone (Steven), Karen Lucchesi (James); along with predeceased daughter Denise Ouellet and granddaughter Stephanie Ouellet. His grandchildren Nicole Fisher, Alex Fisher (Jessica), Kerry Lucchesi (Spencer), and Ryan Marie Fleming will also carry on his memory. He had many great-grandchildren: Rilee, Abigail, Carver, Mackenzie, Natalie, and Haley. Numerous nieces, nephews, and friends will cherish their memories of him.

Frenchy was preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Marie-Anne Ouellet as well as all of his siblings. His life showcased the power of laughter, the value of family ties, and joy found in simple pleasures.

Please share your stories and upload photos of Yvon below so that we can keep his spirit alive together. Though he’s gone from this world physically; he continues to live on in our hearts.

A Graveside Service will take place on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Woodside Cemetery located at 9 Narrows Rd., Westminster MA.

Brandon Funeral Home at 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg MA is handling arrangements.
