May 6, 1953 – January 9, 2026

Patricia Cheponis (née Hassard) was born in Saskatchewan and spent her childhood in Thompson, Manitoba. There she met and married her husband, Robert. They later moved to Thunder Bay, where they lived until Robert passed away in 2023. After that, Pat relocated to Ottawa to be closer to her daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Nicolas.

Pat peacefully left us at the Ottawa Civic Hospital. She is fondly remembered by Cynthia (Nicolas), along with her brother and sisters Darcy (Chris), Linda, and Debi (John), as well as her extended family. She will be remembered for her love of reading, kindness toward animals, and gentle nature.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Pat’s memory may be made to your local cat rescue organization or humane society.
