With heavy hearts, the family of Tracy Lynn Breen shares the news of her unexpected passing on August 10, 2025.

Tracy was born on May 21st, 1971 in Antigonish to Marion and the late Gilbert De Coste.  She lived in New Glasgow and is survived by her husband Mark, daughter Hannah-Jane (Rob), grandson Sebastian, all of New Glasgow, brother Christopher (Crystal) and godson Gavin from Sundre, Alberta; along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father Gilbert, maternal grandparents Boniface and Irene Breen, paternal grandparents Sylvester and Lillian De Coste, cousin Brandon and several aunts and uncles.

Tracy had a kind spirit with a big heart and was always ready to lend a hand.  She began her career with L’Arche in Cape Breton before working for HCRS for over thirty years and later joined Nova Scotia Housing Authority.  Everyone loved Tracy; she enjoyed traveling with friends, reading books, sharing stories, BBQs, and spending quality time with family-especially her cherished grandson Sebastian.

The family wishes to thank Rachael and Rob for their help as well as Const. David Fulton for his compassion during this time.  Tracy will be truly missed by all her family members, friends, and colleagues.

Visitation will take place from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 7:00 – 9:00 pm on Monday, August 18th, 2025 at Eagles Funeral Home in Westville. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 19th at 11:00 am at Holy Name Roman Catholic Church in Westville. Burial will follow at St. Paul’s Parish Cemetery in Havre Boucher. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Special Olympics Pictou County or Holy Name CWL.
