It’s with nice unhappiness that we announce the passing of our Dad, Stephen Wesley Cholmondeley age 71 of Thorburn. Dad handed away peacefully on the Aberdeen Hospital, on July 6, 2024 surrounded by household.
Dad was born in New Glasgow, the son of the late John and Matilda “Tilly” (Cooley) Cholmondeley. He spent his childhood between Thorburn and Sudbury Ontario, however Nova Scotia was all the time house and as such was a resident of Thorburn most of his grownup life. Dad was an lively member of the previous St. Alban’s Anglican Church, Thorburn. He was a tough employee, having retired as a heavy tools operator with the Division of transportation after 30 plus years of service. Dad was a volunteer hearth fighter for a few years with each Thorburn and Blue Mountain hearth departments. However Dad’s true pleasure got here from instances with household, he beloved his household greater than something and could possibly be discovered cheering us all on from the stands, giving rides on the scooter or having a deep dialogue on what ever subject you select.
Dad can be tremendously missed and ceaselessly remembered by Mum, his soulmate and loving spouse of 46 years, Isabel (Fraser), kids Myra (Leandre) Benoit Riverview NB, Matthew (Kelly O’Brien) Cholmondeley, Thorburn, Christopher (Crystal) Cholmondeley, Mooseriver, Kimberley (Clint MacKay), Westville, and Adam (Francis MacDonald), Blue Mountain, 7 grandchildren, who have been his pleasure and pleasure Abigail, Jarett, Savannah, Dylan, Blake, Carson and Alex. Sister, Debbie (Dave) Grant and brother David, sister-ins legislation Gail Cholmondeley and Becky (Invoice) Chace, and Brother in legislation Jim (Maureen) Fraser and quite a few nieces and nephews.
Apart from his mother and father, Dad was predeceased by his in legal guidelines, George and Helen Fraser, granddaughter Mia MacKay, and brother Don and nieces and nephews James, Crystal and George Fraser.
We wish to thank Dr. Ali and the workers of the Aberdeen Palliative Care unit for the care and assist they supplied Dad throughout his closing weeks.

The visitation can be held, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm Friday July twelfth on the H.W. Angus Funeral Dwelling, New Glasgow. Funeral service can be held on Saturday July thirteenth at 11am within the H.W. Angus Funeral Dwelling Chapel with John Reeves officiating. Burial with be within the Thorburn Cemetery at a later date.
Household flowers solely. Donations in Dad’s reminiscence to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Unit or the I.W.Okay could be appreciated.
