It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and Nonno, Salvatore Montilla.Devoted and loving husband of 60 years to Carmela (Turquasio). Adored father of Grace (Adrian), Sandra (Frank) and Vince (Beth Anne). Cherished Nonno to John, Jordan, Jenna, Jessica (Ben), Samantha, Julia (Hailey), Vincenzo, Salvatore and Ashley. Loving brother to Antonio (Bernice) and Luigi. Dearest brother in legislation to Felicia Montilla. Proud “Uncle Sam” to many nieces and nephews. Reunited together with his mother and father Vincenzo and Grazia Montilla, brothers Frank, Giovanni, Giuseppe Montilla and his beloved canine Chico.
Born in Lamezia, Calabria on March 15, 1942. He immigrated to Canada together with his spouse and younger daughter. He labored as a brick layer with Cand R Masonry and Rosati Building for a few years. He was a devoted household man who loved his backyard, wooden working, sausage and wine making, however most significantly his grandchildren.
Visitation will probably be at Windsor Chapel Funeral Dwelling (South Chapel), 3048 Dougall Avenue, (519-253-7236) on Saturday, October 19, 2024 from 9am to the time of procession at 12:15pm to Our Girl of Mount Carmel (4401 Mount Royal Drive) for the Mass of Christian Burial at 1pm.
