We are deeply saddened to share the news of Nabil Abou-Akl’s passing. He left us surrounded by loved ones on September 27, 2025, in Windsor, Ontario, at the age of 64.

Nabil was born in Beirut, Lebanon, and spent his childhood between Lebanon and Saudi Arabia before moving to Canada in 1988. Here, he created a life filled with hard work, creativity, and immense love for his family. He was the dear son of the late Ibrahim and Nadia Abou-Akl.

He is survived by his children Romel (Rita), Heidi, William, Julia, and Arthur (Leslie), each carrying a piece of his spirit. Nabil was a proud Jiddo to Adrian, Layla, and Noah, who brought happiness into his later years. He found great pride in the accomplishments of his children.

Nabil is fondly remembered by his siblings: Joe (Rose), Berta (Shahid †), and Tony (Lisa), and he was predeceased by his brother Roy. His legacy also continues through his nieces and nephews: Maher, Elie, Sandy, Patricia, Ashley, Alex, Gabriel, and Liam.

Nabil shared many wonderful years with his former spouse Danuta-the mother of his children-and truly loved her. He will also be missed by all the friends he made throughout his life.

A creative person at heart with a keen eye for detail; Nabil worked in flooring for many years while running his own business. However, he found true happiness in collecting treasures and expressing himself through painting. His love for Westerns-both films and spirit-showed that he had a gentle side paired with an adventurous heart driven by independence and fierce devotion to family.

Despite facing challenges throughout life, Nabil will be remembered for his unique spirit and creativity as well as the love he instilled in both his children and grandchildren. His absence will be felt greatly among those who knew him; however we take comfort knowing that he is now at peace with Christ.

We appreciate all the kind messages from everyone who held him dear.

Family and friends are invited to join together at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home located at Banwell Location-11677 Tecumseh Rd. E., Windsor (519-253-7235)-on Friday October 3rd 2025 for visitation starting at 9:00 a. m., followed by the Chapel Service at noon. Interment will occur afterwards at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. If you wish to contribute further please consider making memorial donations to Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation.
