It’s with nice disappointment that we share the lack of our loving father at age 94 on June 4, 2024 after a brief sickness. Survived by his loving spouse Angela with whom he celebrated 62 years of marriage. Loving father of Steve (Mary), Patricia Makaric (Brian), Millicent Hill (Jim), Nada Orshinsky (Dave), and Mike (Michele). Beloved Deda to Tyler, Brock (Arielle), and Brianna Makaric; James, Steven, and Meghan Hill; Nicholas, Alexander, and Matthew Orshinsky; and Michael, Edward, and Angelina Vorkapich. Born November 19, 1929 to Vujo and Petra Vorkapich. Predeceased by his brother Steve, sister-in-law Millie, brother-in-law Gojko Daich, and sister-in-law Ljubica. Stric to Daniella, Lisa, Sonia, Mimi, Mark and their households. Ujak to Boro, Pero, Angie and their households. Shall be missed by his beloved Kumovi Dragich household. A particular thanks to his niece Daniella (Vorkapich) Dickens who spent his final hours with him within the hospital. Thanks to household pal, Gary Ternovan, whose each day visits to unravel the issues of the world put an enormous smile on our dad’s face. A heartfelt thanks to the entire devoted caregivers at house and Met Hospital.
Mike was so pleased with his Serbian heritage, and Canadian citizenship. His Drouillard Street roots connecting with so many different Japanese European households had been his basis of realizing the significance of training and neighborhood involvement. He loved a 39 yr instructing profession at Wallaceburg and Leamington Excessive Colleges. Authoring a number of agriculture and environmental science textbooks was a most rewarding expertise that he cherished….nearly as a lot because the yearly subject journeys for his college students to the Royal Winter Truthful, Growers’ Conference, and native dairy / livestock farms.
