It’s with heavy hearts and disappointment that we announce Louise (nee Mottola) Sandmoen of St. Catharines, Ontario, handed away peacefully early on Christmas morning, December 25, 2024. She was in her 98th yr and is predeceased by her mother and father, Dominic and Mary Louise Mottola, as effectively her siblings Angela, John, Peter, Celia and Mary and her nieces Louise (nee) Stando and Diane (nee) Mottola and nephews Pat Stando and Invoice Watson.
Louise lived an extended and blissful life. She was spirited and feisty and cherished to learn and journey and sing and dance, knit and, in her later years, loved a loving relationship with Steve Pettes, a retired music instructor who performed the trumpet and in addition cherished to bounce and journey. Now they’re dancing collectively as soon as once more.
Louise was a single mom who raised a baby by herself whereas she headed the payroll division at Simpson Sears within the Pen Middle. She retired after working there for 21 years. All through her life she was a religious Catholic and spent a lot of her retirement volunteering at each the Catholic Girls’s League and the Dunlop Senior Middle in St. Catharines the place she served on the chief board and arranged and supervised the catering for occasions. She might be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
Louise is survived by her son, Jeff Woolnough and his spouse, Claudette. Her nieces Kathy Watson, Cynthia and Gale (nee) Mottola, Her nephews Peter Mottola and Gino Stando. She might be lovingly missed by her nice niece, Donna Watson; Nice nephews Scott and David Watson and his spouse, Maria, and their youngsters Stefan and Alexandra.
Consistent with Louise’s needs, funeral preparations have been entrusted with the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. Friends are invited to Louise’s Funeral Service on Monday, December 30 2024 starting at 11:00am within the funeral residence ceremony room with doorways open at 10:00am.
