Leisha Christine Nazarewich

February 12, 1943 – January 21, 2025

It’s with nice disappointment that we announce the passing of Leisha Christine Nazarewich on January 21, 2025 after a short and brave battle with most cancers. 

Leisha was born in Toronto ON on February 12, 1943 to Martha (nee Hrycyna) and Peter, each having predeceased her. She is the loving sister of Nadine and Mark (Claudia) and particular Chocha to Erin (Robert), Adam, Patrick, Amy (Brian) and Olivia (Zach).

Leisha was a beloved daughter, cherished sister, a lot beloved Chocha, cousin, scholar, instructor, pupil and buddy to many. 

Leisha studied English and historical past on the College of Windsor, incomes an Honours degree in 1965.

She then went to the Ontario Faculty of Training (Toronto) incomes her instructor’s certificates and returned to show, first at Massey Secondary College, then Riverside Secondary College, and at last Forster Secondary College, her alma mater, from the place she retired in 2001.

After retiring from instructing with the Windsor College Board she continued to show Ukrainian to adults.

She beloved to journey, learn a superb e book, watch thriller reveals on television, see stay theatre, attend the Windsor Symphony and promote a superb trigger.

Her household extends its heartfelt due to the volunteers, nurses, employees and medical doctors at The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County for the extraordinary care and compassion she obtained whereas a resident of Hospice’s Windsor residence. Additionally they thank the nurses and employees at Windsor Regional Hospital and Devonshire House for Seniors for caring for her on a number of events throughout her sickness.

Visitation will happen at Windsor Chapel Funeral House Central Location (519-253-7234), 1700 Tecumseh Highway East (close to Kildare Highway), Windsor, Ontario on Friday, January 24, 2025 from 3 PM till 5 PM and seven PM till 9 PM. Panakhyda (prayers) at 7:30 PM

On Saturday, January 25, 2025, visitation shall be out there at Sts. Vladimir & Olga Ukrainian Catholic Church, 601 Lake Path Dr., Windsor, ON from 10 AM till the time of the funeral service which can start at 11 AM. Burial to comply with at Windsor Memorial Gardens.
