Ken passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on August 26, 2025, at the age of 77. He was the dear husband of the late Majorie. Ken was a proud father to Deanne (Andrew) Shaw, Melissa (John Farrell) Stephens, and Lisa (Jamie) Patton. He will be remembered fondly as a grandfather by Brayden, Cameron, Caiden, and Lexie. Ken was also a beloved brother to Ron (Mattia). He was predeceased by his parents, Wilbert and Bertha.

Ken dedicated 16 years to teaching at the elementary level and spent another 19 years in high school education. His career included 16 years at Assumption College High School followed by his last three years at St. Anne’s High School. Additionally, he served in the Naval Reserves for 15 years. After a break of 24 years from the reserves, he returned as Executive Officer of HMCS Hunter. Upon retiring from that role, he joined the CIC with the Air Cadets (364 Squadron) for four and a half years. He was also an active member of both the Navy League and the Royal Canadian Naval Association. Ken proudly held the distinction of being the last serving UNTD member. He had a passion for flying and almost completed his solo flight training before COVID affected his plans.

The family expresses their gratitude to all friends and relatives who visited Ken during his time at Windsor Hospice. They also want to thank the staff and volunteers for their wonderful care towards Ken and their service to the community.

Visitation will take place at Windsor Chapel – Banwell Chapel (11677 Tecumseh Rd E, Windsor) on Friday, August 29, 2025, from 2-5 pm and again from 7-9 pm. The funeral is scheduled for Saturday, August 30, 2025, at noon in the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations made in Ken’s name to Hospice of Windsor would be appreciated by his family.
