Handed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving household on November 3, 2024 on the age of 91. Beloved husband of Diana (Artemis) for 60 great years, who was by his facet as a faithful partner and caregiver. Loving father to Athena (Mark Bauer) and Andrew (Florie). Cherished pappou of Thalia and Johnathan. Predeceased by his dad and mom Andreas and Athena and brothers Gerasimos (Maria) and Spiros (Theoni). Pricey brother-in-law to Vasiliki Kosmidis (George) and the late Niki Elisseou (Kosta). Uncle to Theodora, Chris (Darlene), Dimitri, and Nathaniel. Additionally survived by prolonged household in Greece. Fondly remembered by Koumbari Asimina Asprakis (late Invoice) and godson Fonda. Can be missed by his shut good friend George Smyrnis
Born in Agia Deka, Corfu, Greece. John spent his early years in Athens as a police officer the place he met his spouse. They emigrated to Thunder Bay, Canada in 1964 and later to Windsor to lift their household. He was an entrepreneur who owned eating places through the years. In retirement, he loved spending time with household, and particularly his grandchildren. He was very lively within the Greek Orthodox neighborhood, and a member of the church council.
Visitation might be held at Windsor Chapel Funeral Residence – Banwell Location, 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E., on Thursday, November 7, 2024, from 5-8 pm, with Thrice Holy Hymn Service at 7:30 pm. Household and pals are invited to assemble at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church, 3052 Walker Rd., for the funeral service honoring John’s life, at 11:00 am on Friday, November 8, 2024. Interment to comply with at Windsor Memorial Cemetery, 1100 Division Highway. In case you want, a donation could also be made in John’s reminiscence to Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church.
