Handed away peacefully on the St. Catharines Common Hospital on Monday July 22, 2024, on the age of 89, surrounded by her loving household. Cherished spouse of John Carlomusto for the previous 67 years. Beloved mom of Joseph (Elena) Carlomusto. Frank (Tammy) Carlomusto. Cherished Nonni of Joseph Jr. (Meg), Eric (Lisa) and Nicholas (Vanessa). Loving Nice-Nonni to Ashton, Vincent, Joseph, Mila and Stella. Expensive sister of Joe (Muriel) Azotini, Maria (Gino) Donatelli, Margaret (George) Cotroneo, Josephine (Osvaldo) Polillo, Ron (Mary Teresa) Azotini and Angela (Tom) Kremble. Liked sister-in-law of Rose Carlomusto (late Tom). She will likely be lovingly missed by her many cousins, nieces, nephews and pals. Predeceased by her mother and father, Guiseppe and Matilda Azotini, and her brother Frank and sister in legislation Pauline Azotini.
Joan was born in Pignataro Interamna, within the province of Frosinone, Italy, and immigrated to Canada in 1954. She labored at varied farming, canning and manufacturing facility jobs all through her life. Joan loved cooking, gardening, canning and baking, particularly her well-known spongecake! Above all else, she liked spending high quality time together with her household, particularly Sunday lunches.

Household and pals will likely be acquired on Thursday July 25, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton Avenue, St. Catharines. Vigil prayers for Joan will likely be held within the funeral house at 3:30 pm. Funeral Mass will likely be celebrated in St. Alfred Church, 272 Vine Avenue, St.Catharines on Friday July 26, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. Ceremony of Committal at Victoria Garden Cemetery.
