With heavy hearts, we share the news that our mother, Gloria Amelia Crawford (Wilson), passed away unexpectedly at home at the age of 79.
Gloria was born in New Glasgow and was the daughter of the late Frank and Kathleen (Rice) Wilson. She married her soulmate, Carl Crawford, in 1965, and together they moved to Union Center where they raised their four children.
She was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #35 Westville. In her younger days, Gloria worked at Proudfoots and later took on various jobs from home-nothing that required driving.
Gloria loved to be around people. She enjoyed staying up late listening to country music and Elvis. She had a fondness for flowers, delicious food, and her dogs, especially her loyal companion Chloe who crossed the rainbow bridge a few years back.
She will be greatly missed by her sons, Steven (Wayne) and Robbie (Kim), as well as her daughters; Gloria (Dan) Helli and Cathy (Tim). Her grandchildren include Diana, Melissa, Kelley, Codie, Kori-Ann, Cassidy, and Cole. She also leaves behind great-grandchildren Teenah-Lynn, Scarlett, Olivia, Ellie-Mae, Grayson, Sierra, Raelynn along with many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Carl Crawford and siblings; Sharon Logan, Isabelle Whynott, Richard Wilson, John Henry Wilson.
A special thank you goes out to Mom’s VON caretakers who were also her friends; she cherished you all. Also thanks to her good friend and helper Karen Cullen.
Visitation will take place at Eagles Funeral Home Westville on Thursday July 24 from 7pm to 9pm. The funeral service will be held on Friday July 25th at 2 pm from Eagles Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mac Leod Cemetery Foxbrook.
One last cheers Mom! You’ll always be in our hearts. I love you
