With heavy hearts, we share the news of Gary John Hooper’s passing at the age of 81 on Wednesday, July 23rd, 2025, at 2:45 AM. He was born on November 25th, 1943, in Windsor, Ontario and spent many years in Management at Chrysler Motor Company before retiring.
Gary was the son of Carl Hooper and Mary “Mamie” (nee Warren) Hooper. He was a caring brother to Carol Hooper and the late Edward “Eddie” Hooper. Additionally, he was a devoted father to his two children, son Gary Hooper and daughter Stacey Hooper. They brought him immense pride as he actively participated in their lives and attended various activities like bowling, baseball games, and other sports events where he cheered them on wholeheartedly.
In his younger days, Gary was also a well-known bowler in the city and excelled at cribbage, darts, and pool. In later years, he cherished spending time with his kids playing cards, watching sports together, and visiting his furry grandchildren. It comforts us to know that he will be reunited with his loving parents, late brother, special friends Bradley, Charlie and Kane; along with his best friend Zeke. As an animal lover at heart, we kindly ask that any donations be made to a local animal organization such as Second Chance Animal Rescue or any charity of your choice in his name.
Visitation will take place at Windsor Chapel – Banwell (11677 Tecumseh Rd East, Windsor, ON) on Sunday, July 27th, 2025 from 3 PM to 5 PM and again from 7 PM to 9 PM. The Funeral Service and Prayers will occur at 10 AM on Monday, July 28th, 2025 before proceeding to Heavenly Rest Cemetery (5005 Howard Ave., Windsor ON). A Life Celebration will follow at Riverside Sportsman Club (10835 Riverside Dr E., Windsor ON).
