Eleanor handed away at house surrounded by household on February 9, 2025 on the age of 92. Born on June 23, 1932 in Duncan, Gray County, Ontario to Gordon and Alma (Lever) McMullen. Cherished spouse of the late Joseph Finn (1998). Loving mom of 4 kids: Thomas Kerr and spouse Janet; Crystelle Kennedy; Gregory Finn and spouse Deirdre; Lisa Marquardt and husband Daryl. Mimi to eight grandchildren: Melanie Kennedy (2022), Timothy, Caitlin, Courtland, Pauline, Colton, Jacob and Nikita; 5 great-grandchildren: Alysha, Stanley, Douglas, Nicholas and Lane; and one great-great-grandchild Amari. Survived by sister Faye Ulmer and brother Alan McMullen (Sandy). Predeceased by siblings Robert McMullen, Elaine Smeeton, Lloyd McMullen and Angela Ganam.

Eleanor was raised on her household’s farm in Gray County, Ontario. In her twenties she left Gray County for Barrie, the place she met Joe whereas each have been working for DeVilbiss Canada. Eleanor and Joe married in 1963 and lived briefly in Toronto earlier than transferring to Windsor, the place they might stay out the remainder of their years of their household house.

 

Eleanor and Joe discovered pleasure in touring, particularly by automobile, because it gave them the liberty to discover at their very own tempo. Frequent journeys have been made to household in Alberta, British Columbia and Texas. They’d usually drive as much as Gray County on weekends with the youngsters to go to family and friends on the farm. Eleanor beloved and cherished her prolonged household and buddies all through Canada and the US.

 

Eleanor was an lively volunteer in her neighborhood, offering a long time of service most notably with The Multicultural Council of Windsor and Essex County and the Windsor Symphony Volunteers Affiliation.

 

Visitation will happen at Windsor Chapel Funeral Dwelling (1700 Tecumseh Rd E) on Friday, February 14, 2025 from 2:00-5:00pm and seven:00-9:00pm. Parish prayers at 7:15pm. Funeral service to be held at Corpus Christi Church (1400 Cabana Rd W) on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 10:30am, adopted by interment at Heavenly Relaxation Cemetery.

 

Memorial donations in honor of Eleanor could also be made to the Windsor Downtown Mission or the Windsor Symphony Orchestra. On-line condolences and cherished reminiscences could also be shared with the household at www.windsorchapel.com.
