It is with heavy hearts that the family of Egidio “Eddie” Dario share the news of his passing on Sunday, July 20, 2025 at the age of 92. He was a devoted husband to Bruna Dario. Eddie was a loving father to Loredana (Richard) and Sandra. He was a proud Nonno to Natasha (Anthony), Ryan, Patrick (Blythe), Olivia (Bakous), and Erica, and a Bisnonno to Harrison and Sophia. Eddie also had dear siblings who have passed away: Fanny (Ezio), Dina (Elio), and Daniela (Giuseppe). In 1951, Eddie immigrated to Canada with his family in search of new opportunities. While his family returned to Italy in 1957, he chose to remain in Canada. In 1960, he met his true love, and they married in 1961, embarking on a wonderful life together.

Eddie enjoyed a life filled with warmth, laughter, and appreciation for simple joys. As an active member of both the Caboto Club and the Trevisani Club, he was well-known and beloved within the Windsor Italian community. Playing cards with friends at the Caboto Club brought him great happiness. An enthusiastic gardener, Eddie took pride in maintaining his backyard oasis. He loved spending time outdoors and often went hunting during various seasons. Whether he was trying his luck at the casino, supporting his favorite hockey team or enjoying bowling nights with friends, Eddie lived life passionately. His memory will forever be cherished by family and friends alike; his legacy of love and loyalty will always hold a special place in their hearts.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 from 2-5pm and 7-9pm at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home – Central Chapel (1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. 519-253-7234). Parish prayers will be held at 4:30pm. The Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at 10am from the funeral home before proceeding to St. Angela Merici Church (980 Louis Ave.) for an11am Funeral Mass. Following this service there will be entombment at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Donations in Eddie’s honor can be made to the Canadian Lung Association or the Canadian Cancer Society.
