Malilay, Editha Javier (November 16, 1946 – September 10, 2025)

Editha passed away peacefully on September 10th, 2025, reuniting with her husband of 54 years, Edilberto (2019). She was a loving mother to Francis (Iris), Christopher (Anne), and Jonathan (Joyce). As a proud mama (grandmother), she adored Amanda (Craig), Isabella, Nigel, Addison, and Luca. Many family members and friends in the Philippines and across Canada and the United States survive her.

After moving to Michigan in 1971, Edith and Ed lived in Battle Creek, Detroit, and Toronto before making Windsor their home. She worked as a dedicated nurse for over 40 years until retiring in 2019. Spending time with her family was precious to her; she loved every chance she got to spoil her grandchildren. Gardening brought her joy too; local nurseries knew her well from her frequent visits. Additionally, she enjoyed trying her luck at the Casino and going to their shows.

Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME – BANWELL CHAPEL (11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. – 519-253-7235) on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, from 2 -5 pm and again from 7-9 pm with parish prayers at 7:00 pm. Family and friends can gather directly at Good Shepherd Parish (462 Advance Blvd, Tecumseh, ON) on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 for visiting at 9 am followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:00 am. Interment will take place afterward at Ste. Anne’s Cemetery (Lesperance Rd., Windsor, ON).

The family wishes to express gratitude to the staff and volunteers at the Hospice of Windsor for providing comfort during her final days. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice of Windsor and Essex County Inc. would be greatly appreciated.
