With heavy hearts, the family of Donna Lynn Bourque (Fraser) share the news of her passing on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at the age of 70 in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.

Born in New Glasgow on February 24, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Donald Fraser and Helen (Skidmore) Doyle.

Donna had a friendly and inviting nature that made everyone feel at ease. She loved deeply and would do anything for those she cared about.

The happiest moments for her were spent with family and friends. She also enjoyed a delicious hamburger at BBQs, playing cards with a winning hand, hoping for luck in bingo games, and throwing darts just right.

Donna often said that her greatest achievement was her family. Her daughter Mary, son-in-law Joey Gerrior, grandchildren Kiara, Annais, Billy (Brock) Gerrior, Tyler (Breanna) Gerrior; great-grandchildren Lovelle and Emmette; sisters Elva Lauchlan (John Mac Callum), son Jason Lauchlan (Missy James), Earlene (Charlie) Kehoe and their kids Carly (Cobee) Mac Naughton and Charles Kehoe from Westville; aunt Blanche Fraser; uncle Earl (Shirley) Fraser along with their children Laura Staples (Matt Major), Karen (Ryan) Stevenson from New Brunswick; sisters and brothers-in-law Theresa (Kevin) Darroch from Marshdale; Jeanie (Edison) Stewart; Belle Bourque from Westville; many nieces and nephews; countless chosen kids and grandkids who spent time in her home over the years along with beloved pets Willow, Hidie and Toasty will all miss her greatly.

In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 42 years Thomas “Tommy” Bourque; aunt Marie (Allie) Halliday; uncles Lawrence Fraser; father-in-law Fred Sr. Bourque and mother-in-law Emma Bourque; brothers-in-law Joe Bourque, Fred Bourque, Bernie Bourque, Michael Bourque, Johnny Bourque and Jimmy Bourque as well as sisters-in-law Patsy Evans, Junie Bourque , Pat Bourque , Marie Bourque along with special puppies Tiny and Luna.

A visitation will take place on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at Eagles Funeral Home from 2-4 PM and again from 6-8 PM. The Funeral Mass is set for Wednesday August 13th at 2 PM at Holy Name Roman Catholic Church in Westville with Father Peter Mac Donald officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Name Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to your local SPCA.

We’ll always hold Donna close to our hearts even though she’s no longer here.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to every doctor , nurse , VON , caregiver , and Glen Haven Manor Ocean Drive staff who have taken care of mom through the years. Your kindness , compassion , love , and friendship mean so much to us.
