We are deeply saddened to share that David Clarence Sawyer has passed away at Windsor Regional Hospital Ouellette Campus on Friday, November 7 at the age of 70. He was a loving husband to Susan Sawyer (nee Garant). David was a caring father to David (Amber), Stephanie, Carrolyn, Ed, and Amy. He took pride in being a grandfather to 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. David was also the brother of Susan and the late Tom (surviving Klara). He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. David was the son of the late Clarence and Margaret (nee Maxwell) Sawyer. He will be remembered for his long career as a locomotive engineer with CP Rail, his summers spent at the cottage in Grand Bend, his love for being on the water, winters in Florida, and especially for his kind nature and cherished moments with his grandchildren. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, November 12, 2025 from 2pm-5pm and 7pm-9pm at Windsor Chapel Banwell Funeral Home located at 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. Following this, cremation will take place. Donations made in David’s memory to the Windsor Regional Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
