Clara Elena Phillips (nee Walsh)
It’s with nice unhappiness we announce the passing of our beloved mom and grandmother Clara. She handed peacefully on the age of 95 on January 20, 2025 at St. Catharines Hospital surrounded by the love of her household.
Clara was born in 1929 in Port Weller, Ontario to oldsters Frank and Elena Walsh and grew up on the household farm the third baby and eldest daughter of 13 youngsters. She helped take care of and lift her youthful siblings and continued her nurturing nature as a grade one instructor for eleven years at Maplewood after which Port Weller colleges. Her caring methods continued all through her total life all the time placing the wants of others earlier than her personal.
In 1958 she was arrange on a blind date and met the love of her life Jimmy Phillips. Collectively they raised a household of 5 youngsters in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Her days had been stuffed with working a busy family and caring for her household. In her later years she loved travelling to Florida with Jimmy, studying, watching her recreation reveals and the Younger & the Stressed with the cat Noel by her facet. Her every day Wordle problem was a spotlight.
She has been reunited in heaven together with her soulmate of 65 years Jimmy. She shall be sadly missed and by no means forgotten by her beloved youngsters Carol Hunter (Sam), Tim Phillips, Dr. Janice Phillips (Joe Delaney), Joanne Van Nest (Matthew), Kevin Phillips (Ola) and her grandchildren Danielle (James), Kelly, Rachel (Jake), Kate (Eric), Lucas (Kristin), Amy, Alex and James. Clara can even be missed by her siblings Dr. Fred Walsh, Anne Primeau, Leo Walsh and Sheila Voisin and sister-in-laws Sharon Walsh and Kathy Walsh in addition to her many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brothers Jim, Invoice and John and sisters Mary, Helen, Teresa, Margaret and Flora in addition to many in-laws.
Our household wish to thank the house help staff in addition to the nursing workers on the hospital for his or her care of Mother. A particular thanks to Alana Harrod for her care and kindness to Clara during the last three years and to her niece Shelley Walsh for all her love and help.
Clara was a robust woman with a quiet, light nature. She had a form coronary heart, unwavering religion, love, knowledge, recommendation, humour and so many tales to inform. She was a very good listener, a tough employee and was relied upon by many all through the years. Regardless of her well being challenges, she by no means complained. Most significantly, she was the middle of our household and household was all the pieces to her. She shall be ceaselessly in our hearts.
Household and pals are invited to affix Clara’s household at George Darte Funeral Dwelling, 585 Carlton Avenue, St. Catharines on Tuesday, January 28, from 2 – 4 p.m. and 7- 9 p.m. A mass shall be held at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 73 Picton St. Niagara-on-the-Lake on January 29, 2025 at 11:00 a.m, adopted by a reception at 12:00 p.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Church Corridor, NOTL to have a good time her lovely life. Donations in Clara’s honour will be made to the MS Canada or Hospice Niagara.
