Christine Mary Ann “Chris” Punga, age 71, passed away Thursday afternoon, June 26, 2025 surrounded by family. She was born in Leamington, Ontario, on April 16, 1954.

Chris married Preston Punga on October 6, 1984, and they enjoyed over 40 years together. She
was a loving mother to three children; Michael (Kathryn), Nicholas, and Kathryn, and later became a
cherished grandmother to George Carson and Regina Christine.

Her spirit lives on through her siblings; Danny & Paula, Diane & Kelly, David & Jill,
Sheila & Peter, as well as her in-laws; Mark & Wanda, Mark & Emma, and their families. She is preceded in death by her
parents; John Welacky and Julia Banda, in-laws George and Ginger Punga, sister-in-law Karen, and niece
Erin.

Chris attended grade school at Most Precious Blood and often spent recess with her
friends behind the field near the fence of her future in-laws’, George & Ginger. This story is fondly retold by both Chris and her mother-in-law.

After graduating from St Clair College, Chris started her career as a medical secretary before becoming an office clerk
at Manulife. After welcoming her first child into the world, she dedicated many years to being a homemaker for the family. Once the kids grew up a bit more,
she returned to work in retail at Schwab’s & Primo’s until retiring in 2022.

Chris volunteered with Jaycee’s alongside her husband while also organizing school events for St. Andrew’s that her children remember fondly.
She was an active member of the Catholic Women’s League at Most Precious Blood Parish.

Crafting was one of Chris’s passions. Whether it was for fun or gifts or fundraising events,
many people have decorations or ornaments made by her-a token of her creativity and affection.
She loved spending time with friends during monthly card gatherings and cherished moments with siblings as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Chris was a source of strength and kindness for both her family and every group she joined.
Her family is eternally grateful for all she did with love and support over the years.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to all family members and friends who were part of this journey with Chris.
They understand how much she meant to so many people while expressing how much they meant to her as well.

Family will receive visitors from 5:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. at Windsor Chapel Funeral
Homes on June 30th, 2025. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a. m., Wednesday July 2nd,
2025 at Most Precious Blood Parish.
Christine will be laid to rest at Victoria Memorial Gardens.

Donations are welcome to WRH Foundation or Transition to Betterness. Online condolences along with treasured memories can be shared with the family at www. windsorchapel. com
