We are heartbroken to share the news of Carl Kearns’ passing. He grew up in the quaint farming town of Merlin, ON. He was the son of Mark Kearns and Maureen Hoy, and also the son-in-law of Tony Ouellette and Irene (Cloutier). Carl leaves behind his wife of 53 years, Janice Ouellette, along with his sons Mark and Paul (Tiffany), and he was a beloved papa to Charlie and Henry.

Carl is also survived by his brother Larry (Denise) and his sisters-in-law Pat Kern (Marshall) and Cyndy Ouellette (the late Mark), as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Carl dedicated 33 years to teaching with the Windsor Essex Catholic District School Board. His musical talent touched many lives, including those of his children, grandchildren, students, friends, family, and colleagues. His Catholic faith was central to his music ministry that lasted over 45 years; he led choirs and entertained seniors throughout this time.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial visitation will occur at the Windsor Chapel Funeral Home – South Chapel, located at 3048 Dougall Ave., (519-253-7236) from 2 – 4pm & 7 – 9pm on Tuesday, January 13. Parish prayers are scheduled for 8:30pm. A Memorial Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Assumption Church on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at a later date. Contributions to Street Help and the Downtown Mission would be greatly appreciated.
