Mildred “Millie” O’Neil handed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024, in Smiths Falls, Ontario. She was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, on March 11, 1932.
Born within the Garden market her playground was the Edinburgh Castles Esplenade. She attended Castlehill Major College till 1940 when she was evacuated out of the town to Broomlee Camp. Whereas there she made the nice escape, she was homesick. The try failed as darkness got here and she or he was scared. She noticed a blue mild within the distance and knocked on the door. It was a police station! Again to camp she went. She lastly returned residence on the finish of the struggle. Upon ending college, she skilled at Alexander Martin as a fly dresser. Whereas there she had the privilege of tying flies for King George VI
In November 1951, she sailed aboard the Empress of Canada to start out a brand new life. That included becoming a member of the Canadian Airforce in 1952. She retired as a LAW instrument Tech 1958. Marriage and youngsters had been the following life course. She had 4 kids, Steven, Susan, William and Patrica Anne.
A sports activities fanatic, Millie loved enjoying golf and curling, darts and playing cards. She was an avid sports activities fan, intently following hockey, baseball, curling and golf and was often called one of the best armchair coach ever. Millie was a life member of the Order of Japanese Star starting with Annaval Chapter and amalgamated with Mayflower Chapter No.2.
Through the years, she gathered associates who grew to become household, loving and being beloved in return. She was the spark in our household, the sunshine that gathered us shut, sharing tales of her life that made us love her extra every day.
She is survived by her daughters, Susan (Eugene) Meyer of Ontario and Patrica Anne (Jeff) of Alberta; daughter-in-law, Pam O’Neil of Utah; grandchildren, Shane, Christopher, James, Terry, Callum, Raelynn, Terry, James, Marissa, Chelsey, Sheamus and Ryjin; and 12 nice grandchildren,
She was predeceased by her 11 brothers and sisters; and her sons, Steven and William.
All are welcome to attend a service in celebration of her life, adopted by a reception that can happen at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 9, in Middleton Funeral House, 398 Fundamental Avenue, toll free 1-855-825-3448.
