Clarabell Mc Carrell Heron, known as “Clara,” passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, February 9, 2026, at Peterborough Regional Hospital at the age of 91.
Clara was the loving wife of Robert Heron “Bob” for 70 wonderful years. She was born in Lindsay, Ontario, on August 15, 1934, to Margaret Jane and Byron John Mc Carrell (both predeceased). Clara had two brothers who also predeceased her: Ross Mc Carrell (Mary) and Kenneth Mc Carrell (Nancy). She was a caring mother to three daughters: Shelley (Paul), Julie (Andy), and Bonnie (Rob).
Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren will always hold her memory dear: Justin (Chloe), Reese, the late Kevin, Brittany (Brandon), Brooks, Clarissa, and Brandon (Victoria).
Clara will be fondly remembered by her many friends, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, from 2 p. m. to 4 p. m. and from 7 p. m. to 9 p. m. at HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE located at 2510 Bensfort Road in Peterborough.
A funeral service to celebrate Clara’s life will take place at 10 a. m. on Saturday, February 14, 2026, in the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL with a reception following the service.
