After a long struggle with mixed dementia, Moe (Maurice) has passed away. He was born in Chatham, Ontario, on June 8, 1944. Moe was a caring husband to Anne (Loebach), a devoted brother to Brian (Lynn), and sister Judy (Roger Boutette), as well as an uncle to his many nieces and nephews. He will be fondly remembered by Anne’s siblings Jim (Marlene), Paul (Diane), Dan (the late Cathy), Janet (Bruce Sprague), and Al (Dianna). After graduating from the High School of Commerce, Moe took on traditional jobs but had an adventurous spirit. He loved horses-both for trail riding and rodeo-which led him to suffer his first concussion and broken collarbone. He left his job in Windsor to explore Australia as a dishwasher, leading a free-spirited life where he connected with like-minded individuals and embarked on various adventures. Once back home, he began training harness horses and met Anne, which inspired him to seek steady employment. He enjoyed a successful 30-year career at General Motors Transmission Plant. Moe was known for being kind-hearted and enjoyed socializing with others. He loved skiing and went on numerous vacations with Anne and friends to beautiful places like Lake Louise and Aspen. Additionally, he cherished warm getaways in Mexico, Cuba, and the Dominican Republic. We express our gratitude to the compassionate staff at both Sun Parlour Home and Huron Lodge. A private celebration of Moe’s life is planned. If you wish, donations in memory of Moe can be made to the Alzheimer Society Windsor-Essex, which would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements are entrusted to Families First Funeral Home. You can share memories or photos or make a donation online at www. familiesfirst. ca.
