Marie passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at WRHN @ Queen’s Blvd. in Kitchener, ON at the age of 82. She was a loving wife to Matthew for 70 years. They met in Scotland and moved to Canada to build their family. Marie dedicated many years as an active volunteer at St. Anthony Daniel’s church, assisting with luncheons and funerals. After arriving in Canada, she began her career as a secretary and worked as a law clerk until her retirement. In her free time during the summers after retiring, she enjoyed lawn bowling. One of her favorite pastimes was watching her grandchildren play sports like soccer and hockey; they rarely missed any games. She was a caring mother to Michelle Riediger (Greg) and Paul Carey. She held dear memories of being grandma to Molly Wagler (Curtis) and Jack Riediger (Erin). This year brought joy as she became a great grandma to little Owen. Marie was also a beloved sister to Jean Kerr (Frank). She was predeceased by her parents and nine siblings.
