Schirrmacher, Karl “Peter”

We are saddened to share that Karl Peter Schirrmacher peacefully passed away on Monday, January 5th, surrounded by his loving family.

He was a devoted husband to Herta (née Queck), with whom he enjoyed 67 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they raised a beautiful family with four children: Klaus (Janie), Petra (Glen), Birgit (Dave), and Peter Jr. (Ginny). He took great pride in being a grandfather to Nicole, Natalie (Alex), Kaniesha, Ashton (Jachson), Aryn (Joseph), Lauren (Sean), Cole, Caden (Paige) and Tessa, and he cherished his great-grandson Noah.

Born in Germany, Peter moved to Canada in 1965, bringing with him a strong work ethic and deep commitment to his family. His love for them was at the heart of everything he did; his dedication, kindness, and integrity made a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

Peter will be greatly missed by his family and friends; he will be remembered for his warmth, generosity, and the love he shared so freely.

Cremation has taken place. A private family interment will take place at Woodland Cemetery at a later date.
