Johanna passed away peacefully at the Leamington Mennonite Home on January 18, 2026, at the age of 94. She is now reunited with her beloved husband William, who left us in 2012. A loving and devoted mother to Pete Wolters (Kelly), Bill Wolters (Danielle), Jack Wolters (Daniele), Ann Simpson, and Coreen Epp (Paul). She was a proud grandmother of 16 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Johanna is survived by her sister Arentje (Zus), sister-in-law Alberta; her sister-in-law and best friend Maartje; along with numerous nieces and nephews in Canada and Holland; as well as family friend Rose Voakes. She was predeceased by two brothers, two sisters, and many in-laws. Our heartfelt thanks go out to her honorary family at the Leamington Mennonite Home for their exceptional care.

Johanna will be resting at Kennedy Funeral Home Ltd. (519-776-7378) in Essex on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p. m. Family and friends are invited to come together at the Essex Christian Reformed Church for a funeral service on Saturday at 11 a. m. Afterward, she will be laid to rest at the Cottam United Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Diabetes Canada, Windsor & Essex County Humane Society, or to the Alzheimer’s Society of Windsor & Essex County. You can send your condolences online at www. kennedyfh. com
