Handed away peacefully at Ross Memorial Hospital on September 15, 2024. Gary was born in Toronto, Ontario on February 9, 1940 to his Late mother and father Cecil Winter, Marion Winter (nee Andrew & his bonus mom Anne Winter (nee Morrison). Gary was the devoted & loving husband of Nancy Winter (nee Thomas) for 63 years. Proud father of Leanne Carpenter (Jeff) & Phil Winter. Cherished grandfather of Jennifer Andersen (Devin) & Chad Carpenter. Nice grandfather to Nash Andersen & Scarlett Andersen.
Gary was a devoted Police Sergeant for 33 years. His profession began with the City of Whitby police division, transferring to the Durham Regional Police Service the place he retired. He was very pleased with his accomplishments throughout his time serving the neighborhood. He shared fond reminiscences together with his coworkers and companions by the years and spoke about them steadily after retirement.
The household wish to prolong a heat thanks to the employees at Ross Memorial Hospital for the care they offered in Gary’s ultimate days.
As per Gary’s needs, cremation has taken place and there will probably be a personal household Celebration of Life held at a later date.
