Elsie Daffer OBITUARY
Elsie grew up on a farm in a small town called Lebanon in southwest Nebraska. She was the seventh of eight children born to James Scott Daffer, Jr. and Erma Faye (nee Nicholson). After finishing high school at Lebanon High, she stayed on the farm with her family until her father passed away in 1957. Following that, she and her mother relocated to Omaha, then moved to California, and finally settled in Florida where they made their home. After her mother’s passing, she moved to Ontario, California where she spent the remainder of her life. While living in California, Elsie and her mother traveled widely across the United States and even took a trip to England. They particularly loved visiting various state capitol buildings. For 43 years, Elsie was part of the Upland Woman’s Club. Their meetings held twice a month became one of the best parts of her later years after she faced mobility challenges. Her family appreciates all the love and support from the kind members of the Woman’s Club. In her last years, a wonderful home health aide named Pat Stroud cared for Elsie. They formed a close friendship during that time. The family is thankful to Pat for providing such love and care for Elsie. A big thank you goes out to the staff at Gold Medal Senior Living in Claremont for taking great care of her during the final months of her life. Elsie is survived by her older brother Harlow Daffer (Mc Cook, NE), his wife Sandra; sister-in-law Nancy Daffer (Zephyrhills, FL); sister Ruby Leavitt (Ontario, CA), along with 18 nieces and nephews and many great grand nieces and nephews. The interment will be private in Lebanon, Nebraska.Source link
