Dr. John Szasz, on the age of 97, died on February 1, 2025, at his house in Woodstock having lived a full and pleased life. The one son of John and Juliana (Szabo), he was born in Peris, Mures, Transylvania on January 18, 1928. For 58 years he has been the cherished husband of Linda (Hill). Collectively they’ve been the proud mother and father of Andrew and Tina Szasz – Paige (Andrew) and Thomas (Kirsten); Dave and Michelle Szasz – Ella and Thalia; and Adrienne and Drew Moir – Finn and Jessica, all of whom he cherished dearly and to whom he imparted his knowledge via light teaching, function modeling, and 1,000,000 unforgettable tales. Left with many heat reminiscences are his sister in-law-Sandra and her husband George Younger and their kids Bruce (Deirdre Bryce) Younger, Alison (Bernard) Vigneault, and Catherine (Jack) Eva, together with their kids. 
John got here to Canada in 1938 with the household settling in Windsor. After attaining his medical degree from the College of Western Ontario, John opened a household follow in Sarnia the place he tended to fascinating instances, together with one the place he needed to attend to the Captain of a container ship on the St. Clair River. John was taken by dinghy to scale the ship’s exterior ladder along with his medical bag clenched in his enamel.

On returning house he obtained his Canadian fellowship – FRCS(C). He was a member of the Woodstock Rotary Membership for 50 years, and a very long time member of the Woodstock Curling Membership. When not working he loved fishing, searching, woodworking, images, and portray. His house away from house was the country cabin on Lake Temagami which he usually referred to affectionately as “the shack”. Nothing made him happier than seeing how a lot his kids cherished his little piece of heaven – till he noticed that every one his grandchildren have been equally enamoured.
The household needs to thank Dr. Jeffrey Nichols, a really expensive good friend of John’s, for his tireless assist of the household all whereas making John’s care his best concern.
