Clara Morettin (Leonzio), born in 1940, passed away peacefully at home, leaving behind a loving family. She was the last surviving child of Antonio and Louisa Leonzio.
Clara is preceded in death by her husband Ron Morettin (1938-1994) and her siblings. She will be fondly remembered by her four children: Roland Morettin (Sherry), Michelle Morettin, Carla Morettin (Derek), and Dennis Morettin (Donnalee). She also leaves behind four grandchildren: Meagan Mc ILwain (Dan), Eric Morettin, Isabella Morettin, and Angelina Morettin (Meryk) along with two great-grandchildren, Jack and Ella Mc ILwain. Additionally, she is survived by her sister-in-law Elsie Leonzio from Dryden and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A heartfelt thank you goes to Dr. Anna-Maria Laakso, Wesway, Care Partners, Bay Shore Nursing, and Ontario Health at Home for their support in managing Mom’s healthcare needs so she could stay at home during her illness.
Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will occur at the Westfort Everest Funeral Chapel on 420 West Gore Street at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Clara’s name to The Alzheimer Society of Thunder Bay, Wesway, George Jeffrey Children’s Centre or The Underground Gym.
