Our dear wife and mother Carol Ann Smith passed away suddenly on Tuesday, September 30 in Brampton.

Carol was a kind person whose warm presence could light up any space. Originally from Guyana, she lived around the world with her husband Ian for many years before settling in Canada in the early ’70s.

As a nurturing mother, she always made sure her family was well taken care of with her wonderful cooking and great sewing skills.

Carol was married to Ian for 59 years and raised two children, Andrew and Tamsin. After retiring from Export Packers, she enjoyed spending her free time dancing, traveling, playing cards, and getting together with her beloved group of Guyanese ladies for their themed lunches.

She also looked forward to the annual Man-Son-Hing Family Picnics where she loved seeing everyone gather to enjoy good food and sunshine along with her five cherished siblings. To all her nephews and nieces, Aunty Carol was always good for a laugh.

Everyone will miss her dearly, especially Ian, Andrew, and Tamsin.

If you’d like to honor her memory, donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada.
