William James Hopper, affectionately known as Bill, passed away peacefully in Kingston on January 3, 2026, surrounded by his devoted wife of 71 years, Kay (Kathleen). Born on December 9, 1931, Bill lived a fulfilling life and made a positive impact on many.

Bill’s love and values are reflected in his children Maureen Aho (Gerry), Brenda Henry (the late Dave Henry), and David Hopper (Barbara). He was the proud grandfather of Russel Henry (Casandra) and Melanie Henry (Chris), as well as a great-grandfather to Jersie-Lynn, David, Rae-Lynn, Ryder, and Rowan. He was also a dear brother to Harold (Hal) Hopper (Barb) and the late Doreen Dyer. Uncle to Sharon, Barb, Janice, Bob, Ken, Bill, Liz, and Sue.

Bill’s kindness and optimism were infectious. He repaired what was broken and created what was needed. If you were lucky enough to call him your friend, you knew he would be there for you for life.

Friends are invited to join the family on Saturday, January 10th at St. John’s Anglican Church located at 41 Church Street in Kingston ON K7M 1H2 starting at 1:00 pm. A brief service will take place at 2:00 pm followed by refreshments in the church hall. In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations can be made to St. John’s Anglican Church (Memorial Gifts). Arrangements are entrusted to James Reid Funeral Home in Kingston ON.
