Arthur Kerr, age 93, of Orleans, Ontario, passed away peacefully of natural causes on January 31, 2026, in Ottawa, Ontario.

Arthur was a caring husband, father, and friend whose relaxed demeanor and charming personality made a lasting impact on all who had the joy of knowing him. He shared a loving marriage of 40 years with his dear wife, Diane Kerr. Together they created a life filled with companionship, laughter, and steadfast support. He is also fondly remembered by his son, David Kerr (Jennifer Lesurf). He was predeceased by his father, Thomas Kerr; his mother, Ellen Baker; and his sister, Peggy Carruthers (Erwin Carruthers).

Throughout his life, Arthur established both a successful career and a meaningful personal story. Before retiring, he served as General Manager of the Garden City Shopping Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba where his leadership skills and genuine concern for others earned him great respect. Beyond his work achievements, Arthur was very active in his community. He proudly held a position on the Board of Directors for the Toronto Argonauts Rowing Club and was a Level 4 certified Hockey Coach who inspired young athletes with patience and enthusiasm.

Arthur lived life with enthusiasm and positivity. He loved fishing and camping and treasured time spent outdoors. A loyal sports fan, he rarely missed an opportunity to cheer for his favorite teams-the Toronto Argonauts and the Ottawa Senators. He also enjoyed golfing and curling-appreciating both the competition and camaraderie those sports offered. In quieter moments you could often find him woodworking-creating pieces with care-or listening to Bob Marley’s music which he greatly appreciated.

What truly distinguished Arthur was his contagious positivity and friendly nature. He had an ability to make people feel welcome and valued. His laughter was abundant; his stories were engaging; and being around him lifted spirits. Everyone enjoyed being near Arthur because of his fun-loving attitude and genuine kindness.

Arthur’s influence continues through the many lives he brightened with encouragement, leadership skills, and constant good humor. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
