Authorities report they are present at an Oakville high school following a threat directed at the school.
Halton Regional Police placed Loyola High School under a hold and secure order earlier today (Sept. 24) after receiving the threat from school officials.
A hold and secure situation means that the school is locked down and no one can enter, but classes continue as usual.
Officers who arrived on the scene searched the building, and after about an hour, they lifted the hold and secure order.
“No injuries have been sustained by anyone and no arrests have been made at this time,” police stated once activities at the school returned to normal.
Loyola is located at 1550 Nottinghill Gate at Upper Middle Road in Oakville.
The school serves around 1,300 students.
