WHITBY, Ont. — Ontario’s police watchdog has charged a Toronto police officer in relation to a collision in Whitby, Ont., final 12 months.
The Particular Investigations Unit says on the night time of June 25, 2024, Toronto cops have been trying to find a person in Whitby.
The watchdog says the person was positioned whereas driving on a scooter which was struck by an unmarked Toronto Police Service automobile in a Canadian Tire parking zone.
They are saying an 18-year-old man was severely injured and brought to the hospital after being struck.
On account of the SIU investigation, Det. Const. Joshua Baksh is dealing with one rely of harmful driving and one rely of assault with a weapon.
The watchdog says Baksh is required to seem earlier than the Ontario Courtroom of Justice in March and won’t launch any additional touch upon the investigation whereas the matter goes earlier than the courtroom.
