The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is looking for data from the general public, following a severe collision involving a bike and a van which didn’t stay on the scene.
On Oct. 22, 2024 shortly after 6:15 p.m. members of the OPP Burlington detachment have been dispatched to a severe collision on the Queen Elizabeth Means (QEW), west sure, earlier than Dorval Drive, Oakville.
It was reported {that a} van had collided with a bike and the driving force of the van didn’t stay on the scene. The driving force of the bike, a 47-year-old from Oakville, was transported to a trauma centre with life-threatening accidents, which have since been downgraded to life-altering.
Members of the Freeway Security Division’s (HSD) Site visitors Help Unit (TSU) are helping with the investigation. Two west sure lanes of the QEW, east of Dorval Drive have been closed for roughly three hours. All lanes have been re-opened roughly 11:20 p.m.
