A Catholic priest from Oakville has been charged with sexual assault after an investigation by Halton Regional Police in the area.

In early February 2026, police began looking into a report of sexual assault involving an adult female volunteer at a church in Oakville.

The Rev. Ranjan D’Sa, 53, residing in Oakville, is facing one count of sexual assault.

Authorities stated that D’Sa has served as a member of the clergy since 2010 and has worked at St. Dominic’s Roman Catholic Church in Oakville since 2016.

Investigators are worried there may be other victims. They urge anyone with information to reach out to police at 905-825-4777 ext. 8970, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or haltoncrimestoppers. ca.

A photo of the accused has been made public.

D’Sa was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in court in Milton at a later date.
