Premier Doug Ford’s authorities has signed a $100-million take care of Elon Musk’s SpaceX to ship high-speed web to distant residents in rural and northern Ontario.
Infrastructure Minister Kinga Surma says the brand new so-called ONSAT program will carry SpaceX’s Starlink high-speed satellite web system to fifteen,000 premises.
She says the service might be used to attach folks within the hardest-to-reach areas of the province to the web.
Surma says the system will go reside subsequent summer season and the funding covers gear and set up prices, however not month-to-month charges.
The province has invested $2.5 billion on 270 initiatives to attach 550,000 Ontarians to high-speed web.
Infrastructure Ontario says SpaceX received out over a number of different bids.
