Oakville man charged after cocaine found in fleeing pickup truck

An Oakville man has been arrested and acquired eight charges after police caught him rushing, fleeing and alleged possession of cocaine.

Final Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024, at roughly 8:00 a.m., OPP had been conducting radar enforcement on Freeway 401 eastbound within the Municipality of Port Hope. Police noticed a pick-up truck travelling at a pace of 161 km/h.

Officers say they activated their emergency lights as the car continued at various charges of excessive pace. The pick-up truck was then, “noticed driving erratically and with out transferring over, handed an OPP cruiser parked on the onerous shoulder with lights activated at one other site visitors cease,” in response to police.

The following day, Sept. 8, 2024, at roughly 1:35 a.m., police responded to a report of a construction fireplace at a residential handle on Wright Highway within the Municipality of Port Hope.
